COVID-19 Safe Learning Procedures

Below is a list of all procedures put in place by LIFE Prep School to safely and effectively return to an in-person, classroom setting. Any questions regarding the procedures or their descriptions should be sent to beau.junker@lifeprepschool.org.

Symptom Free Zone

  • A Quarantine Room will be in place at the front of the school building. Students who are symptomatic of COVID (see below) will be placed in this room to be evaluated by staff. Staff will determine whether or not the student will need to be sent home.

  • If students are showing 1 “less common” symptom, as defined by the Minnesota Department of Health, they will be evaluated by teacher/administrator to determine whether or not they are well enough to remain in school.

  • Students with more than 1 “less common” symptom OR with 1 “more common” symptom will be sent to Quarantine Room.

Less common symptoms: sore throat; nausea; vomiting; chills; diarrhea extreme fatigue or feeling very tired; new nasal congestion or stuffy nose; new severe headache

More Common Symptoms: fever at or above 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit; new cough or cough that gets worse; difficulty/hard time breathing; new loss in taste or smell

Mask/Face Shield Requirement

  • Any person inside of the building will be required to wear a mask or face shield.

  • Masks and face shields will be recommended but not required outside. Students who choose not to wear a mask outside must remain socially distanced from other students (3-6ft)

  • Students will be expected to have a clean, washed mask every day. Students who do not have a clean and washed mask will be provided a mask or face shield by the school.

Daily Temperature Checks

  • Each classroom is provided with an instant temperature check scanner. Students will have their temperature checked each morning as they enter the classroom. Students with a temperature of 100.4 or above will be sent to Quarantine Room until picked up by parent/guardian.
